Am writing from the perspective of a friend of one of the aupair. Imagine if you had your life reduced to being a maid, have to do all the chores in the house and has nothing to do with the kids at all, to top it up less wages and no free language course cause you have to pay from the small wages you get from the same family every month. I feel like this is human rights abuse to the maximum and she cant do anything about it cause she is afraid that she will be forced to leave the country. Additionally, who is responsible for the mental torture she goes through from this?
Unless you're going to come up with a program to check up on each and every aupair every two weeks on how they're fairing on, fight for their human rights and see to it that the host family does not abuse the aupair and follows the agreement of the contract, it should be abolished. The most have abused the real meaning to what an aupair program is.
